Synopsis:
David Billa (Ajith) is a refugee to Tamil Nadu from the civilian war of Sri Lanka. He faces discrimination in the refugee camp and out of the insult and anger, he revolts against the system and becomes a stubborn demon who does every thing in the money. From local goons, he rises to international arms mafia. The journeythat David Billa goes through in his quest for total control and domination in his domain is what David Billa is, in a nutshell.
Performances:
Ajith came up a very good performance as a baddie. It is no easy task to do such a character, but he does it well. He looked very stylish and his body language is majestic.Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah just come and disappear.Sudhanshu and Vidyut  have terrific screen presence. Others are all fine.
Technical Performances:
The movie is a direct rip off of The Godfather Part 1&2 and Nayakudu, let down by mediocre writing and bad direction. The first 45 minutes are very impressive though it is heavily inspired by Nayakudu, but the huge difference is here the acting left a lot to be desired. The movie slows down a bit after the first act but has a few genuinely good moments until the end of the first half. The second half is a let down majorly because there is no logic and the acting is very lousy. The movie really takes flight during the third act and the climax though pretty nicely done, it is ripped off from the baptism scene in The Godfather.
Rajasekhar’s camera speaks a lot in Billa 2. Be it Goa, Chennai or Georgia, he captures them well. Yuvan’s music is a letdown. He manages to bring solace with his background score. Dialogues are worth to listen.Selva’s art works are authentic.
Final word:
The movie is a much hyped project but the director had let it down his poor scripting and screen play. Given the hype and craze surrounding the project, it does not reach expectations in any ways. The movie might appeal to some Ajith fans in Tamil Nadu.
