New Delhi: A 24-year-old woman and her husband were arrested for killing a film producer after he made advances towards the woman, police said in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Shama Khalid, who was also a business partner of Sanjay Rohilla, killed him at a house in Sham Vihar Phase-I of Delhi's Najafgarh area with the help of her husband Mohd. Khalid and two others on the intervening night of June 6 and 7 this year.
The body was found on June 13 when neighbours informed police about a foul smell emanating from the house.
"The victim's head was found stuffed in a plastic bag in a room while his torso and limbs were lying in a corner," said Additional Commissioner of Police Anil Kumar Ojha. An investigation led to the identification of the body later.
Police arrested the woman and her husband, residents of Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh, on the basis of suspicion, and during interrogation they broke down and admitted to having committed the murder.
"The woman invited the victim at her rented house and killed him with the help of her husband and two other persons, Dinesh and Jitu, who are missing. They locked the house after killing Rohilla," Mr Ojha said.
Khalid told police that the victim had made advances towards his wife and used to pester her to accept his proposal.
"After repeated warning, when Rohilla did not mend his ways, the duo hatched a conspiracy to kill him," Mr Ojha added.
